Green Cavalry is a Mongolian non-governmental organization dedicated to environmental
conservation. Founded in late 2013, its mission is to help mitigate the effects of climate
change in Mongolia. The organization places strong emphasis on environmental rehabilitation,
reforestation using native trees and plants, and overall ecosystem enhancement.
To support these goals, Green Cavalry operates a nursery for cultivating trees, shrubs, and wild
plants, as well as a farming nursery that promotes sustainable practices and biodiversity
restoration.
Objectives:
- Serve as a model for innovative approaches to dryland reforestation and revegetation.
- Accelerate the revegetation of desert habitats and combat desertification.
- Utilize patented growing technologies to stimulate native seed bank germination, enhance plant
growth and development, and support the cultivation of native species in nurseries for use in
reforestation and ecosystem restoration projects.
Increase Mongolia’s woodland areas, with a primary focus on protecting Bogd-Khan Mountain and the Gobi region as models for broader regional conservation. Additionally, aim to restore and transform these lands into thriving green woodlands.
Introduce advancements in forestry administration, technology, and practices to enhance
Mongolia’s forestry sector.
Implement a mitigation banking scheme to support sustainable forest management in
Mongolia.
Encourage mining companies to prioritize ecosystem restoration and environmental
responsibility.
Attract international foundations to support reforestation projects in Mongolia—particularly in
areas contributing to red dust storms that impact the climate of other Asian countries.
